Overview

SAP/CRM is a desktop application that serves as an organizer and documentation tool for salespeople. Our challenge was to create a mobile application for the desktop version. It is a powerful application with many functions, and we had limited real estate on screen. It needed to sync over the air with the SAP/CRM desktop application and interact with multiple native BlackBerry applications.

At this point, an application had not been developed that was integrated with native BlackBerry applications. The User Experience Design team and myself had to figure out a way to integrate the SAP/CRM application with native applications without confusing users. We had to create affordances for users to recognize that what they were doing in one application (ie: Calendar, Phone Calls, E-mail etc.) would affect what was happening in the SAP/CRM application. We were also paving the way for cross-application integration in future projects.
